In Memoriam - 1957-2017
Growing up in Zimbabwe, Africa gave him a great love for its animals. They became the subject of the majority of his art work, as he realistically revealed their very life and essence for the world to see. Though gifted in art from his earliest years, because of John’s dyslexia, school was a challenge. Even so he pressed through and graduated from college with a degree in art.
Throughout his adult life however he suffered from a chemical imbalance that required hospitalizations and medication. At times his condition put limits on his artistry but until his passing in 2017, he remained a happy, loving, and compassionate man with a passion for helping others personally experience the love of Jesus Christ.
Done in either pen and ink or pencil, John uses the style of stippling for most of his drawings. Stippling, also known as 'pointillism', is a type of drawing that involves creating images and shading by using many small dots.
NOTE: Prints of his work are available for sale with or without Scripture verses.
John’s prayer remains that God will bless you as you view his work.
If you care to read more about John, a chapter in Jean Phillips’ book, Rescue, is devoted to telling his story. His animal drawings are featured in the book.
